Artist Book: Masaba

  • Aim: To create an “Artist Book” based on an artist or designer that I really like.

  • Idea: Using Masaba’s key colours, that van be found in many of her pieces, to emphasize on each aspect of her life by highlighting every chapter throughout the book with those colours.

  • Result: Book

“Artist Book: Masaba” is a an ode to her inspiring life and work that is represented through four chapters in the book. Masaba is an Indian designer, entrepreneur, actress and businesswoman who has redefined Indian fashion. Starting from her early life and leading up to what is in store for her in the future.

She combines Indian textile and prints, and gives them a modern twist so that they are more wearable, accessible and adaptable in any setting. Her work is bright, bold and colorful. I relate a lot with her sense of aesthetic, so choosing her for this book was ideal.

Quotes have been sourced from interviews with Vogue India, Curly Tales, Times of India and more. Images have also been sourced from Masaba’s website, Vogue India, Netflix and more. All rights for images and quotes are reserved to the specific publications and companies.
